John 14:18, a word caught my eyes, "orphan". What a blessing that we will not leave on this world as orphans and how lucky that we have our Heavenly Father and when we live on the earth, we have guidance, comfort and protection from the Holy Spirit!

I started an orphanage ministry in my local church, in Chenzhou city of Hunan. I will never forget a three-year girl named "Shui-shui" in that orphanage. Her name means "water-water", "a lot of water". You may read some of my experiences and her story in my blog:http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_604c4b510100dobw.html

It is in English. I wrote it with a lot of tears, so I don't think it was well composed. But the story basicly is there.

Hunan Bible Institute is doing good. Rev. Chen, the principal of our school has a strong feeling that China is going to have a big change within ten years. China will have more and more freedom on religious affairs. We should be prepared for that. The new campus will open construction within these two months. In front of the new church building, it is a huge square which can hold 10,000 people. "We can have big meetings outside on the square in the future." says Rev. Chen. Pray for Rev. Chen's health. He has had kidney transplant operation for 18 years. He wants to work ten more years for the Lord on his position.

It is the plan that I will go to Biola University for PHD study on mission this year. I am now waiting for scholarship and student's visa. I personally don't know if this arrangement is God's will for me or not. I am struggling. The study is a kind of heavy burden for me. I have been doing a lot of administrative things and travelled a lot among Hunan churches. I feel it is not easy for me to stay at home quietly doing readings and research, especially doing them in another language, English. Pray that I will go through this easier and may God's will done.

Our students are doing well. They are as usual study hard. They are very good students. I went to teach Thesis Writing in Zhejiang Seminary for their third year students last week. Compared with their students, by the grace of God I find our campus has much closer relationship among students, and between students and teachers, and so the attitude of our students is much better. I pray that what God gave us secretly will one day pour out to other seminary and be blessings to other seminary students and teachers. I am very proud of the leadership of our school, the faculty of our school and the student body of our school. We are not perfect, but we really have a special spirit: we are always seeking to do our best.

Our school's church developed quite well, after adopting cell group model. Believers really enjoy close relationship with each other in small groups! We also started one-on-one discipleship training among believers. We opened our school's gate early in the morning, so that believers can come into the church, which on the second floor of our school, to have morning prayer meetings every morning for one hour.

Please give our thanks to your church members, brothers and sister. Tell them we love them and we are so grateful to have them to be our backup. Our ministry is their ministry. Although most of them can't come here, they are actually doing ministry with us through prayers. We are co-workers in the field of Hunan. May God bless you all, more and more!

Og litt mer om arbeidet ved instituttet. (tror denne siste biten er noe over et år gamle.)

Students only pay their food, no tuition, which is only 300 Yuan a month, 2400 Yuan a year; and even if some very poor ones do not have any cash or support from their local church, HBI will cover their food expenses. This is what we are doing with 3 year program now, and the same with future 4 year program, I believe. The principle is, the improvement of HBI is to serve Hunan churches better, not to serve Hunan churches worse. Please don't take for granted that we teachers will move to live in the beautiful new campus, and the new campus is basically for the goodness of faculty, the matter of fact is, there is no place in the new campus for teachers to live. We still need to rent or buy houses outside the campus. The new campus is for the students, the future of Hunan church.

Ektepar team

Pastor Chow Wing Fai (t. h)og kona Lau Ka Po er et flott ektepar team i menigheten Amazing Grace Lutheran Church som er en del av The Evangelical Lutheran Church her i Hong Kong.
